What to post on OnlyFans: content ideas and how often
On your OnlyFans page you post photos, edited videos and polls to your feed, plus stories that last 24 hours: that’s what gives your audience a reason to stay subscribed. What you sell separately goes in paid messages, custom content or live streams. How often? OnlyFans doesn’t give a number: its official blog recommends a schedule your audience can predict, whether that’s daily, weekly or something else.

What should you post on OnlyFans when you’re just starting out?
Before you invite anyone, your page needs content. OnlyFans’ terms list it among the steps to open a creator account: adding content for subscribers to see.
Start with what introduces you best: photos and videos in your own style, with a warm, personal tone. Your first week can be simple:
- Several posts on your feed with the same idea behind them: a place, a kind of lighting, a style people will recognize.
- A short edited video that introduces you.
- A more spontaneous story: it stays up for 24 hours.
- A poll asking what they’d like to see.
What content can you post on OnlyFans?
OnlyFans doesn’t ask for a specific format: its terms define content as photos, videos, audio, text or live streams, among other things. What it does ask, under its Terms of Service and its Acceptable Use Policy:
- It’s yours, or you have all the rights to post it and charge for it.
- If you use other people’s material, like a song or an image, you have the rights, the licenses and written permission.
- It’s exactly as you describe it: the rules ban misleading descriptions.
- If something is AI-generated, it’s clearly labeled with #ai or #AIGenerated.
- No spam, and no sharing other people’s personal data.
Content ideas for your page, format by format
What subscribers see (your feed with your posts, your stories) is what the subscription pays for, so it has to give them reasons to stay. These ideas don’t depend on any niche:
| Format | What it’s for | An idea to start with |
|---|---|---|
| Photos | Making your page look polished, with a style people recognize. | A photo set built around a single idea: a place, a color, a kind of light. |
| Videos | Telling a story, not just showing. | Several clips put together like a short story: getting ready, the photo session, the result. |
| Stories | Showing your less polished side. They last 24 hours. | What you’re up to today, or a sneak peek of what you’re posting tomorrow. |
| Polls and quizzes | Getting your audience involved, and picking up ideas along the way. | Let them choose between two ideas for your next session, or run a quiz about you. |
| Captions | Starting a conversation with every post. | A question at the end, or a little story about that photo. |
Which photos and videos work best on OnlyFans?
There’s no formula that works for everyone; be wary of anyone who sells you one. What works on your page is what your numbers and your audience tell you.
The OnlyFans Statistics page shows visits, earnings, which countries your audience is from and how they found your profile; polls and the chat fill in the rest. What OnlyFans does highlight on its blog and in its rules:
- Being authentic: stories are there to show a less polished side of you.
- Videos that tell a story. For its art department, editing means putting clips in order to tell a story: the better the story, the more your audience gets involved.
- An accurate description: what the caption says has to match what’s in the piece.
What goes on your feed and what do you sell separately?
Your feed is what makes someone renew: according to the OnlyFans blog, nobody keeps paying for a subscription if they can’t count on new content on a regular basis (more in how to retain OnlyFans subscribers). What you sell separately has its own channels; for how it works in the chat, see what OnlyFans chatting is.
- Paid messages (PPV, “pay-per-view”): content that unlocks when someone pays for it separately. According to the official OnlyFans blog (December 2025), any creator can sell it by message; in posts or live streams, only free accounts can.
- Custom content: something made to order for one person. Once the purchase is confirmed, the terms require you to hold up your end.
- Live streams: on a free account they can have an entry price. On any account, your audience can tip you during live streams, on posts or in messages.
How often should you post on OnlyFans?
OnlyFans doesn’t give a number. Its official blog says a consistent schedule is the best way to earn your audience’s trust: daily, weekly or some other pace, as long as it’s predictable. Someone paying for a subscription wants to know they’ll find something new.
That’s why a pace you can keep up for months is worth more than one packed week followed by silence. You’ll see guides that talk about several posts a day or a weekly minimum: the ones we’ve reviewed don’t cite any OnlyFans source.
Scheduling helps you stay on track: the Queue lets you set up posts, messages or live streams to go out at the time you choose. Its official blog puts it this way: “You need to sleep; your profile doesn’t.”
Once your pace is set, add something spontaneous: a story the night before a scheduled post, a Q&A live stream right after.
How to plan your content for the week
Planning isn’t locking yourself into a calendar: it’s deciding once so you don’t have to improvise every day. A plan that works for almost any pace:
Look back at last week
What got the most visits, what sold, what people asked for in polls or in the chat.
List the pieces
What goes on your feed, in your stories or in paid messages; which clips will work for your social media.
Set aside one session to create content
Lighting, outfits, setting, several ideas in the same session. Creating in batches gives you days off without your page going quiet.
Edit every piece
Put the clips in order so they tell a story. Make versions suitable for all audiences for Instagram, TikTok or Threads, following their rules; more in how to promote your OnlyFans on Instagram.
Schedule everything in the Queue
Posts, messages, live streams, each with a caption that describes the piece accurately.
Let the Vault keep track
The Vault stores what you’ve posted or scheduled, remembers what you sent by message and lets you repost something for people who joined later.
What do I do if I run out of ideas for OnlyFans?
It happens to anyone who posts every week. It’s rarely a lack of creativity: usually, it’s the lack of a system to capture ideas. A few ways out:
- Run a poll asking your audience what they want to see, as OnlyFans suggests: it gives you ideas, and whoever votes feels they’ve had a say.
- Read the chat: what people ask you for, what they say in the comments on your posts. Write down every idea as soon as it comes up.
- Go back to the Vault. What you posted months ago is new to anyone who subscribed later; OnlyFans offers that feature for exactly that reason.
- Change the format, not the idea: what was a photo can become a video; what was a video, a story about how you created it.
- Create a series: an idea that comes back every week with its own name. Dates on the calendar can spark ideas too.

ApplyWhat should I post on OnlyFans if I’m just starting?
Whatever introduces you best: several photos with the same idea behind them, a short edited video, a spontaneous story and a poll about what your audience wants to see. OnlyFans’ terms ask you to add content for subscribers: have it ready before you announce your page.
What content can you post on OnlyFans?
Content that’s yours, or that you have all the rights to post; if you use other people’s material, like a song, you need written permission. It has to be exactly as you describe it, with no spam and no personal data about other people. Anything generated with AI is labeled #ai. You’re responsible for everything that gets uploaded.
How often should you upload content to OnlyFans?
OnlyFans doesn’t give a number: its official blog recommends a consistent schedule, daily, weekly or some other pace, as long as it’s predictable. What matters is that your audience knows there will be something new. Choose a pace you can keep up for months; scheduling in the Queue helps you stick to it.
How many photos should I upload to OnlyFans?
OnlyFans doesn’t set a number: its terms ask you to add content for subscribers without saying how much. To open your page, a few pieces that introduce you well are enough. After that, spreading them out consistently matters more than uploading lots at once; the Queue helps you do it.
Can you post only photos on OnlyFans?
Yes: OnlyFans’ terms don’t require you to upload videos; they define content as photos, videos, audio, text or live streams, among other things. Even so, mixing formats gives people more reasons to stay: an edited video tells things a single photo can’t.
What do I do if I run out of ideas for OnlyFans?
Ask your audience with a poll, as OnlyFans suggests; read what people ask for in the chat; repost from the Vault something that people who joined later haven’t seen; change the format of an idea that already worked. With the Queue ready, you can rest for a few days without your page going quiet.
