What can BC’s Civil Resolution Tribunal do if my content is leaked?

If an intimate image of you was shared, or someone threatened to share it, without your consent, the CRT can order it deleted, de-indexed or removed from a website or platform, even when you don’t know who shared it. It’s an online, civil process, not a criminal one. Whether your specific case fits is for the CRT or a lawyer to say.

Will the CRT publish my name?

Not by default. According to the CRT, when it decides a protection order claim it must order a publication ban, so nobody can publish your name or other details likely to identify you. As an adult, you can ask for no ban, and if a decision is published, your identifying details are anonymized.

Does posting my own content on OnlyFans mean I lose BC’s protection?

Not automatically. The Intimate Images Protection Act says a reasonable expectation of privacy isn’t lost only because you distributed the image yourself, or agreed to someone else distributing it, to the extent of that consent.
