What the Online Safety Act changes for your UK audience
The Online Safety Act 2023 sets the rules for online services in the UK, and Ofcom is the regulator in charge of enforcing it. Since July 25, 2025, sites and apps that allow pornography have had to put highly effective age checks in place so that under-18s can’t get in; the UK government gives facial age estimation and photo ID matching as examples.
The change happens on the viewer’s side of the screen. Someone in the UK who wants to see adult content may have to prove their age first, platform by platform, and how that works is each platform’s decision, not a task for you. On your side, nothing new: OnlyFans verifies you with your ID before you can post, and its rules apply wherever you live.
Country blocking if you live in the UK
OnlyFans has an official setting called Block by Country, in the privacy and security settings of your account. Its Creator Center says you can keep users in specific states, and even in entire countries, from getting into your profile. With Luzara Talent, our team switches it on in your account for the countries you choose.
What the Creator Center doesn’t say is whether England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland can be picked on their own, so plan on blocking the United Kingdom as a whole. Before deciding, weigh these points:
- Blocking the UK also shuts your page to every potential subscriber there. It’s your call.
- Northern Ireland is part of the UK; the Republic of Ireland is a separate country. With family in Dublin or Cork, Ireland goes on the list as well.
- The same goes for any country where relatives live.
- A VPN may get someone around the block: it narrows who can see you, but it isn’t a wall.
