OnlyFans account suspended: why it happens and how to appeal
OnlyFans can suspend an account with 30 days’ notice for any reason. If it believes you’ve broken its rules in a serious or repeated way, it can also do so without notice while it investigates; during that time it can pause subscriber payments or hold your earnings. The only official way to appeal is its appeal form, fully completed, within six months of the decision.

What does it mean when OnlyFans suspends your account?
Suspending an account, which many creators call a “ban,” is one of the moderation decisions covered by the OnlyFans Appeals Policy. Not all of them close the account: some only affect one piece of content or one feature.
The notice may arrive as a message in your OnlyFans account, an email, a letter, a text message or a call: check your spam folder too. When it takes action after reviewing a possible breach, OnlyFans commits to notifying you with a statement of reasons. Save it: it’s the basis of your appeal.
Its policy lists these decisions:
- Suspending or deactivating the account.
- Suspending or deactivating a specific piece of content.
- Issuing a final warning for a breach.
- Restricting features, such as live streams.
- Suspending, ending or restricting your ability to earn from your content, for example by blocking subscriptions or limiting certain types of payment.
Why does OnlyFans suspend an account?
Its Terms of Use cover two situations. With 30 days’ notice, OnlyFans can suspend or delete your account at any time, “for any reason.”
Without prior notice, it can suspend or delete your account or your content for as long as it needs to look into the facts. Its terms allow this in three cases:
- It believes you’ve broken, or may have broken, its terms in a serious or repeated way.
- You try or threaten to break them in a way that, in its view, could have serious consequences for OnlyFans or for another user.
- It suspects that part of your earnings comes from illegal or fraudulent activity, whether yours or the paying subscriber’s.
What happens to your earnings if OnlyFans suspends you?
While it reviews one of those three cases, its Terms of Use let it pause subscriber payments that would come due during the suspension, hold any part of your earnings and suspend, refund or cancel payments. That’s what it can do while it reviews, not a final decision.
Refunds are a separate matter. If a subscriber gets a refund or a chargeback (disputing the charge with their card issuer), OnlyFans can deduct your share of that payment. Its terms also require that what you sell is exactly as you described it: a custom request you rush to accept in the chat is a risk, not a sale. We cover this in our article on OnlyFans chatting.
Here’s a summary of what its Terms of Use say, with no interpretation:
| What OnlyFans can do | When, according to its Terms of Use |
|---|---|
| Suspend or delete your account | With 30 days’ notice, at any time, for any reason. |
| Suspend your account or your content, pause subscriber payments, hold earnings | Without notice, while it reviews one of the three cases above. |
| Delete the account or the content, treat part of your earnings as forfeited, refund or cancel payments | If, after the review, it confirms one of those cases. It notifies you with the reasons. |
| Deduct your share of a payment | If a subscriber gets a refund or a chargeback. |
| Use your earnings to offset damages | If a breach on your part causes it harm or losses. |
Which OnlyFans rules do people break without realizing it?
Many rules aren’t about how explicit the content is, but about how it’s described, promoted or documented. These come from its Terms of Use (August 2024) and its Acceptable Use Policy (September 2025).
It’s worth rereading them now and then: some changes can take effect without notice and, if you keep using OnlyFans, you’re bound by the new version. Here are some worth keeping in mind:
- Misleading descriptions of your content or your account details. What you sell has to match how you described it.
- AI-generated content without a visible label such as #ai or #AIGenerated.
- Paid advertising for another brand without #ad or a similar label, without the brand’s name or without saying who’s paying.
- Promoting your account with Google Ads, similar ad platforms or search engine advertising.
- Promoting your page in ways that break the rules of the network where you do it: its Terms of Use require every link promoting your account to also follow that site’s terms.
- Misleading links, or links that suggest OnlyFans endorses you. A domain using its brand needs, among other requirements, its written permission.
- Spam, sharing other people’s personal data or linking to external storage sites.
- Arranging in-person meetings.
- Someone else appearing in your content without being tagged as a creator, or without you having their proof of identity with their written consent.
- Third-party material without the rights or written permission to use it.
- Not responding when OnlyFans asks for more age or identity details (more on this in why OnlyFans rejects your verification).
- Not meeting your tax obligations: according to its Terms of Use, it can lead to your account being closed or suspended.
Can you be suspended for what someone else does on your account?
Yes. Its Terms of Use put it plainly: if someone helps you run your creator account, your legal responsibility doesn’t change. In its words, “Our relationship is with you,” not with that person. You’re responsible for making sure everything posted and all use of the account follow its rules.
OnlyFans isn’t responsible for lost, stolen or compromised accounts or passwords either, or for anything done with them without your permission.
That’s why it matters who you delegate to. We explain this in what an OnlyFans agency does and in whether it’s safe to give an agency access. Before giving anyone access, make sure:
- The account stays in your name, not someone else’s.
- Your limits are in writing before you start.
- A contract spells out what they can do on your behalf.
- Whoever helps you knows OnlyFans’ rules, including when they change.
- Nobody asks you for passwords or money before you sign.
How to appeal an OnlyFans suspension or ban, step by step
According to its Appeals Policy, the only way to appeal a decision is the official appeal form (“Deactivation Appeal Form”). Only complete forms are considered.
Decisions that can’t be undone, like ending a live stream, can’t be appealed. For everything else, these are the steps:
Read the notice calmly
Look for it in your account messages, your email (spam folder too) or your phone. Write down the date, the decision and the reasons.
Gather what you’ll need
Your username or account URL, the URL of each affected piece of content, the written consent of anyone who appears with you and the permissions for any third-party material.
Explain why you comply with its rules
The form asks for detailed reasons why your content or your account complies with its Terms of Service and its Acceptable Use Policy. Be specific: cite the rule and back it up with evidence, without pointing fingers.
Send it on time
You have six months from the decision, which is only reversed if OnlyFans rules in your favor.
Reply if OnlyFans asks for more
OnlyFans may ask you, or third parties, for more information or documents before deciding.
Wait for the answer
OnlyFans can grant your appeal in full or in part, or deny it. If it grants it, it reverses the decision and whatever was done because of it. Even so, it isn’t responsible for the disruption, including any earnings or subscribers you lost.
How long does OnlyFans take to respond to an appeal?
Its Appeals Policy doesn’t set any response time. It only says that an appeals team reviews each properly submitted case in a non-discriminatory, diligent and non-arbitrary way.
You’ll see timeframes of a few days or a couple of weeks online. They don’t come from the official policy, so they’re no use for planning.
The 24 to 48 hours you sometimes read about are something else: the target its Complaints Policy sets for complaints, not for appeals.
If you live in the European Union, the European Commission’s summary is that, under the Digital Services Act, platforms must review their decisions promptly; it doesn’t give a number of days.
What to prepare, and what not to do, if you’re suspended
It helps to have this ready before you need it: proof of identity with the written consent of anyone who appears with you, permissions for third-party material and your verification details up to date. If a notice arrives, save a copy with its date.
Here’s what to avoid:
- Sending an incomplete form: it won’t be considered.
- Letting the six months go by: you lose the right to dispute the decision.
- Complaining without grounds or in an abusive tone: its Complaints Policy lets it close the account of anyone who does.
- Opening another account to get around the decision: it doesn’t solve anything, because a suspension can only be disputed through its official channel.
- Going to court without notifying OnlyFans first: its Terms of Use require that notice and, if OnlyFans requests it, mediation beforehand. It also reserves the right to close the account of anyone who starts legal proceedings against the platform.
What our team does for you
Nobody can promise you that OnlyFans won’t suspend an account, not even an agency: you’re still the one responsible to the platform. What changes is that you’re not handling it alone.
At Luzara Talent, your OnlyFans account is always yours, in your name; if you don’t have one, our team sets one up from scratch. We only act on your behalf because you authorize it in the contract. On both plans, professional chatters from our team handle your chat 24/7 within the limits you set in writing.
Full Management, the plan we recommend, adds more services (you’ll find the full list on our services page). These include:
- Content direction with a weekly guide and professional editing of every piece.
- Your Telegram channel, opened in your name.
- Searching for your leaked content: every copy we find is reported to request its removal.
- Tax information and recommendations adapted to your situation; we don’t handle your taxes: you or your tax advisor do.
- A weekly dashboard and 24/7 support for any questions about how your account is managed.

ApplyWhy does OnlyFans suspend an account?
Its Terms of Use let it do so with 30 days’ notice for any reason. It can also do so without notice, while it reviews your case, if it believes you’ve broken its rules in a serious or repeated way, if you try or threaten to break them with serious consequences, or if it suspects your earnings come from fraudulent activity. Its rules mention, among other things, banned content, missing consent, pending verification and unmet tax obligations.
Can OnlyFans hold your earnings if it suspends you?
Yes. While it reviews a possible breach, its Terms of Use let it pause subscriber payments and hold your earnings. If it ends up confirming the breach, it can treat part of them as forfeited; you dispute that decision under its Complaints Policy within six months. Even if it rules in your favor on appeal, it isn’t responsible for what you missed out on earning in the meantime.
How do you get a suspended OnlyFans account back?
Only by appealing, using its official form (onlyfans.com/appeal), fully completed, within six months of the decision. Include your username or account URL, the URL of the affected content and detailed reasons why you comply with its rules. Before deciding, OnlyFans may ask you for more documents. If it grants the appeal, it reverses the decision; if it denies it, nothing changes. Nobody can promise you how it will turn out.
How long does OnlyFans take to respond to an appeal?
Its Appeals Policy doesn’t set any timeframe. The turnaround times you see online don’t come from the official policy. The 24 to 48 hour target in its Complaints Policy is for complaints, not appeals. The decision is only reversed if OnlyFans rules in your favor: if it asks you for more documents, reply as soon as you can.
Can I be suspended for what someone else does on my account?
Yes. Its Terms of Use say that if someone helps you run your creator account, your legal responsibility doesn’t change: its relationship is with you, not with that person. That’s why it’s best to delegate only when the account is in your name and your limits are in writing, and only to someone who knows OnlyFans’ rules.
Can a subscriber’s refund or chargeback affect me?
Yes. If a subscriber gets a refund or a chargeback (disputing the charge with their card issuer), OnlyFans can deduct your share of that payment. Its terms also require that what you sell is exactly as you described it. That’s why it’s best not to accept custom requests you can’t create or promise content that doesn’t exist.
